Many pet owners have been hit extremely hard during these difficult times and the last thing they need
is to loose the one thing that gives them unconditional love. Many owners have been forced to give up
their pets to shelters only to face death in a gas chamber.
If you or your family is on Medicaid, TANF, Social Security Disability, have foodstamps or have
temporary hardship then Grettas Wish may be able to help you. In order to receive food you must
show proof of one of the above.
"How Do I Apply For Help?"
If you feel that you cannot provide adequate food for your pet or yourself, then you can apply for help.
Simply call or email us for an application. Please know that Grettas Wish reserves the right to refuse
any application. If any of the information you provide on the application is false, you are caught giving
away or selling the food, then you will immediately be terminated and cannot re-apply for assistance.

"Do you deliver?"
No, not at this time due to the price of fuel. We have several places that we are at every month for you
to pick up your food.
"How long can I get help?"
We ask that only one person per household apply. We can provide food for up to a four month
period. After the four month period is up, we will review your current situation. You do not need to
reapply. Food will be given only "once" per month.
"How much food will I get?"
You will receive 15 to 35 pounds of dry dog food depending upon the size for up to four dogs and 2
pounds of dry cat food per month. Quantity depends upon the amount of food available to us at the
time. All food is donated to us therefore there is absolutely "no choice" as to what brands you will
receive. We will however try to match the size of kibble the animal.
We can not guarantee the same brand of food each month therefore your pets may develop intestinal
issues until the food agrees with them.
We will not provide food to anyone breeding their pets or is habitual with accidental litters.

At this time we are trying to build up our supply of needed food items and supplies for pet owners in
need. If it is an emergency situation, we will find a way to provide food for a family or individual.
We provide help in the following counties: Rutherford, Cleveland, Catawba, Gaston, McDowell, Polk
You must come to pick up food unless we have a volunteer or know of someone that may go to your
area.

Each week we now bag up and deliver dog & cat food to the Grace of God Rescue Mission in Forrest City,
NC. The Mission feeds 90 people a day and realized that not only are the humans hungry, but their pets as
well. Two containers sit at the front door and we try to keep them filled. Those that come to eat and have
pets at home can now take a meal back to their cherished animals.
