Grettas Wish Pet Food Bank
I was born and raised in Ocean View, DE and ever since I can
remember I've always had a deep compassion for those less
fortunate.   I have never looked down at someone for what they
don't have.
For many years I only helped animals and then one day at a
dog show I realized the need to help people as well.
My friend and I showed up at the dog show and noticed a man
sleeping on the park bench.  Throughout most of the morning
we watched as so many people passed by and laughed at him.
During our lunch break the man walked over to us and smiled.
We both smiled back and asked him how he was doing.  He
looked so hard at our sandwiches and neither one of us could
take the first bite.  We both handed him the sandwiches and
our sodas as well.  He thanked us and took off back to the
bench. There we sat with only our snack cakes.  I went to my
van and found the cups from breakfast that had some melted
ice still in them and that was now our drinks. Of all times we
each only brought enough money to pay entry fees, so buying
lunch was out of the question.  Just as we were going to eat our
snack cakes the man walked back over.  We knew what we had
to do and that was give them to him.  He told us to have a
blessed day and once again ventured to his bench.  There we
sat with melted ice water in a cup.  I thought about this man
maybe not eating for so long and I'm sure both of us could have
made it until dinner.  It wasn't two minutes later when one of the
Judges came up to us and said, "I saw what you two did and
that was one of the nicest and most unselfish things I have
seen in a long time".  She then invited both of us to dine with
the judges.

After this happened and we started Grettas Wish, I knew that
we had to help both ends of the leash!

Walk with them and not above them.....
